Asian PTA Weekly Rationale

After spot discussions and a rise in PX prices, the PTA
CFR China marker was up $13/mt-$18/mt to $980/mt-$995/mt on May 13. The marker was up $53/mt-$76/mt
during the week. China's domestic PTA was
valued at Yuan 114/mt at Yuan 6,785/mt Ex-Warehouse. This is above the bidding
indication that was last heard at floating formula TA2209 plus Yuan 80-90/mt. PTA September futures, TA2209, listed on Zhengzhou Commodity
Exchange closed today at Yuan 6,695-6,800/mt. This is up Yuan 120-140/mt over
the May 12th assessment at 2300 GMT. As of
May 13, China's domestic import parity prices were around $875.21/mt-
$890.30/mt. PTA CFR India was increased by
$13 mt-$16/mt to $1080/mt- $1,120/mt. This maintained the spread to CFR China
