Asian isomer MX $7/mt less on the day at
$787/mt FOC Korea, $807/mt CRU Unv1 and $5/mt at $825/mt CRU China Dec. 12. Sources
indicate that the market appeared oversupplied, with many sellers trying
to reduce their inventories. There were many offers for January, heard
in the Market on Close process at $787/mt Korea, but prices dropped $7/mt
to $825/mt CFR China Dec. 12. Sources said that paraxylene was also down $7/mt,
to $908.67/mt CFR Unv1/China. Accordingly, the PXX-MX spread, based
on the FOB Korean isomer-MX prices, was stable at $121.67/mt. 9. February
crude oil futures fell $0.56/b to $75.66/b at 4:30pm Singapore time.
