Sources said that the US acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene assessment
continued to be firm at the beginning of the second quarter of the year. This
was due to higher pricing and strengthening of feedstock monomer. Spot ABS was valued at 174. 5 cents/lb (3,845-3,875/mt), an 11-cent increase ($245-260/mt). The pricing was discussed in a wide range of prices, with
some as high as 180c/lb delivered basis. Upstream,
US Styrene prices increased by $250-270 between March 29 and $2,000-2,040/mt FOB USG on April
5. Spot acrylonitrile in the USA was up
$20-25 this week, at $2,105-2,115mt FOB USG basis. This is to track the rise in
the CFR Asia marker. The last discussed pricing was around $2,100-2,135/mt. The ACN in the US was 11. 25 cents higher at 124. 50 cents/lb on a delivered...
