Based on stable pricing
indicators, US import polyethylene Terephthalate prices held steady during the
week of April 20. Prices for import PET were
$2,282-$2,304/mt (103.5-104.5c/lb). DDP US West Coast held at the lower end
market discussions at 104-106c/lb, with corroborated talk about value
at 103-105c/lb. Due to ongoing port
congestion, prices have been higher on US East Coast due to increased imports
of containerized cargo. This is due to a tight supply of chassis truck drivers
and drayage truck driver. According to
market sources, import resin prices on both coasts are expected to rise due to
strong demand and low inventories during peak bottling season. Container outflows have been reduced by China's coronavirus
