As
thin price negotiations continued, Asian ethylene was stable on Dec. 1. Platts
estimated the CFR Northeast Asia ethylene cost at $880/mt on Dec. 1. This price
has been stable since Oct. 31, according to Platts. The CFR Southeast Asia
price of ethylene was also evaluated at $880/mt on Dec. 1. This is unchanged from
Oct. 14. According to trading sources, spot price discussions are ongoing Both
buyers and sellers were unwilling to enter into negotiations, so the market has
remained muted. Buyers weren't interested in purchasing spot cargoes at
the moment due to negative margins for most of ethylene derivatives production. Sellers
were reluctant to sell spot cargoes below $900/mt CFR Northeast Asia/Southeast
