Asian monoethylene glycol
prices rose on March 9 due to soaring crude oil markets. ICE Brent crude
futures rose $4.72-5.25/b on the day to $130.41-145.20/b at 4:30 PM Singapore
time (0830 GMT). Sources said that supply was normal while demand wasn't as
high as expected. A producer stated that
producers were considering selling the feedstock and instead importing MEG,
since losses were in the hundreds.the China-Europe MEG arbitrage ended because
the prices were comparable. As China is a
net exporter, there was no arbitrage between China and the US. Sources said that more supply from Asia to the US is
