ACN CP settles lower Spot upstream markets close mixed
Sources said that the US
acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene assessment fell for the second consecutive
week. The drop in styrene monomer throughout the month continued. Spot ABS was valued at 180.5c/lb ($3,975-4,025/mt), a
decrease of 1 cent ($22-26/mt). The 180 cents/lb
delivered basis level was the same for ABS pricing. Upstream, US Styrene prices dropped $125 between April 19
and $2,025-2,045/mt FOB USG on April 26. Sources
said that a scheduled styrene turnaround was set for this week. A second
turnaround is expected to take place next week. The material was not discussed due to three ongoing turnarounds
that took place in April and May. Spot
acrylonitrile in the USA was valued at $2,255-2,265 mt FOB USGC basis, up to $20-24
from the week prior. This is despite talk of $2,260-2,290/mt. Domestic...
