- Selling and buying bearish- Market balance on the day

The US methanol market indicators remained
weak on the day. There were few offers and there was a shortage of trades and
bids on September 15. Market
participants attending an industry conference continued to maintain a bearish
sentiment for another day. Multiple
sources claim that the market remains balanced as no push was made to buy or
sell spot material. Spot methanol prices
in September and October remained stable at 105c/gal FOB ITC for the seventh
straight day. The market structure
remained flat. Prices fell in Europe due
to thin spot trading. The FOB Rotterdam
spot price for methanol was Eur352.25/mt on September 15, down Eur0.75 compared
to the previous day due to low buying interest.
