After September's price rises, benzene
prices rose in Europe on Aug. 15. As the
market emerges from the summer slump that has affected downstream demand in the

delivery layman for five to 30 days was priced at $1,025.50-1,080.50/mt CIF.ARA
Aug. 15, an increase of $27-32/mt over Aug. 12. The European
styrene marketplace was still in a lull, with no buyers. After a
purchase at $1,195-1,230/mt on Aug. 12, however, prices rose and offers rose.
