Spot prices for European MTBE/ETBE declined on February
15 due to firm selling and the downward trend in the upstream gasoline markets. Rated the MTBE FOB ARA marker at $29.75/mt-$32.80/mt on
February 15, 2013, a decrease of $23.033/mt-$26.045/mt. The European MTBE premium to February-February-Eurobob
barges dropped to $152.50/mt-$160.68/mt on February 15, down 4.75/mt-$4.80/mt
on the previous assessment. The drop in
the upstream oil and gas complex caused the losses. Sources say that the European MTBE market is still strong. Crude oil prices ended the European trading session lower
day-on-day due to easing tensions at the Ukraine border. ICE Brent crude oil was $2.04/mt-$5.09/mt lower at
