Spot trading in Asia naphtha markets picked
up with two tenders being issued Dec. 14, amid the continuing bearish outlook
for petrochemicals demand heading into H1 2023. Sources said that this was due
to the continued bearish outlook. Sources
said that the tenders hearing closing December 14 were from South Korea's Lotte
Chemical, seeking at most one cargo of open specification naphtha to be
delivered by H2 January delivery. Japan's Asahi Kasei Mitsubishi Chemical
sought at least one shipment of open-specification Naphtha to be delivered by
H2 February delivery. Brokers estimated the January-February Mean
Japan naphtha swap spread to be 50 cents/mt, trading at $6.50/mt by
midafternoon Dec.14 compared to $7/mt at Dec. 13's Asian close. A...
