Market participants reported that there was uncertainty in European
oxo-alcohol markets during the week ending April 7. High propylene contract
prices and logistical issues caused by high propylene contracts were also
causing problems for producers. S&P
Global Commodity Insights evaluated the European 2-EH spot price at Eur2,400/mt NWE
and $2,000/mt FBO Rotterdam. This assessment weighed volatile upstream costs
and feedback from a tight and uncertain marketplace outlook against a
producer’s indication. Prices were set at Eur1,930-2,200/mt until
corroboration. N-Butanol prices were
unchanged at Eur2,300/mt. FD Northwest Europe and Eur1,950/mt. FOB Rotterdam
