Due to a lackluster bidding, the US spot
market for methanol continued to be inactive Nov. 29, despite a decrease in
demand interest. Although
many offers were made, there was not much buying activity. On the day,
offers as high as 94% were made. Despite the almost 11-cent price
drop from the previous month, the market continued to remain bearish. Sources
said that demand remains bearish ahead the holiday season. As demand
continued to remain low amid excess supply, the US market remained in a
long-term position. Methanol prices in Europe fell throughout Nov.
