downstream products meant that the Asian paraxylene market experienced little
price movement on August 29. September
ICE Brent crude oil futures increased $1.68-2.50/b between Aug. 26 and $101.54-120.50/b
by the 8:30 AM Asian close on Aug. 29. After
falling in the afternoon, the January PTA futures on Zhengzhou Commodity
Exchange rose above Yuan 5,500-6,000/mt. This was 1.77% less than Yuan 5,534-6,000/mt on Aug. 26, but it still rose above $101.54-120.50/b at 8:30 am Asian close. Sources say that weak buying interest in paraxylene caused a
slowdown in trade momentum. Buyers and sellers took a cautious approach to new
capacities due to uncertainty. The Market
