The Asian naphtha market was mixed on
September 15 due to improved arbitrage, and higher futures, but downstream
demand was weak and market sources pointed out ample Chinese polymer
inventories. The
front-month October-November Mean Japanese naphtha swap spread widened to
$2.25/mt midafternoon trading Sep. 15, up from $2/mt Sept. Hanwha Total purchased 25,000 mt full-range heavy naphthas
at a premium $13/mt to Mean Japan naphtha assessments. CFR. Market sources also
said that SK Energy bought 25,000 mt full-range heavy naphthas to be delivered
for H2 October delivery. The premium was in the teens to MOPJ assessments. CFR. Mitsui Chemical purchased naphtha that had a minimum 70%
paraffin content. Delivery is scheduled for Oct....
