On May 11, Asian styrene was priced lower
on the day, at $1,025/mt FOM Korea and $1.025/mt CIF China. After weeks of quiet
trading, a flurry spot indications were heard for CFR China cargoes on May 11. Laycans for June were offered at $1,023-1,063/mt for a cargo
that had a letter of credit term of 30 days. This was partially considered in
the assessment on May 11. The latest bid
was $1,010-1,050/mt for a cargo that had standard 90-day L/C terms. These bids and offer were made before the start of Market-on
Close assessment. Domestic China
indications dropped sharply during the afternoon trade, with the prompt China
