As the market for Asian benzene suffered a
decline in prices, extended weak fundamentals in Asia continued to increase
selling pressure. China
saw a sharp drop in ethylbenzene prices on local exchange. This triggered a
decline in domestic East China benzene domestic prices across laycans. The second-half November ex tank laycan was last auctioned
and offered below Yuan 7000-Yuan7070/mt. East
China domestic marker fell Yuan 313-Yuan350/mt , Yuan 7020- Yuan7100/mt or
$38.74/mt - $848.65/mt based on import parity. FOB Korea's benzene marker fell $50-$55/mt per day to
$792.67/mt Oct. 31, mainly due to strong December laycan offers. A handful of market sources stated that term negotiations
for next year's supply had not seen much traction as buyers were dismayed at
the weakness of downstream markets,...
