In the week ending Nov. 22, the European
acrylonitrile spot price remained unchanged at $1,490-1,530/mt. This was due to
widespread uncertainty and illiquidity in pricing. The CIF ARA Acrylonitrile spot price remained
unchanged at $1,490-1,525/mt during the Week, despite weak demand and a
wide variety of pricing indications from markets. Due in large part
to the absence of spot activity, there is still a wide gap between buyer and
seller pricing levels, with participants citing various factors. One trader
stated that the pricing was between $1300-$1,400/mt and that weak spot
activity was driving lower prices. An
acrylonitrile producer, however, indicated that pricing was between
$1,300-$1,400/mt, with weak spot activity. He also stated that he believed
