Sources said that the Asia naphtha market
did not receive any new tenders for Nov. 21. This was due to market
participants being hesitant after the recent sentiment upswing on the paper
market and because steam crackers are limited by low olefin production margins. Midmorning trade in the paper market showed a
slight decline in sentiment Nov. 21. Brokers pegged the front month
November-December Mean Japanese naphtha swap spread lower at 50 cents/mt,
compared to the Nov. 18 close of $14.50-18.70/mt. The
front-month November-2018 swap closed at $14.50-19.86/mt. This was an 8-month
high. Sentiment was positive Nov. 18. It was
$16.50/mt on March 29, the last time it was above $15.00/mt. According
