MTBE rose $10/mt to $1,013/mt Nov. 11, as crude oil prices continued to rise in
response to the optimism generated by China's COVID-19 policy easing and a
weaker US Dollar. No bids or offers were received on the Market on Close
(or MOC) process on Nov. 14. This kept the factor at 1.233. A trade source
stated that market participants are now focusing more on January cargoes
because there is a lot of MTBE coming into Singapore for the remainder of 2022. According
to a market source, MTBE CFR Singapore prices were being bid at $1,040/mt-1,050/mt
for November loading. A trader claimed that FOB China cargoes were being
offered at more than $930-950/mt in...
