Gulf May spot Methanol was 2 cents lower than the previous day's price on 15
May due to strong supply. For
the fourth trading session in a row, there were no trades or bids. However,
offers for both May and June fell by 2 cents on the day. Sources
said that the methanol supply is still plentiful and that this is what's
driving prices. A producer stated that "a couple of
customers believe that the demand is low, but in reality it is just supply that
is strong." "Methanol will be in demand for quite some
time." The market's feedback led to a stable assessment
of June spot methanol on a single day. This resulted in resetting the market
