After a November that was disappointing,
the European benzene spot market price recovered from its two-year low in week
ending Dec. 2. This was due to increased demand and trading during the contract
settlement period. The
forward delivery period for benzene took five to thirty days and was set at
$726-740/mt CIF-ARA Dec. 2, which was stable on the day. The market was up $76/mt since Nov. 25, and at its lowest
point of $624/mt on Nov. 28, Due to lower
production capacity in downstream markets, demand is expected to remain low. A marginal recovery is expected in December, despite
