Asian isomer-mixed xylene prices dropped
sharply by $41 per day to $955.50-970.40/mt FOB Korea, and $950.50-980.25/mt
CFRUnv1 Aug. 31, on weak demand upstream. The CFR China market increased $5-6/mt
to $984.50-1000.50/mt due to domestic demand for gasoline blends. According to a China-based
source, gasoline blending has seen a rise in demand for isomer MX because the
Chinese market is tight. He also said that domestic inventory was currently low
at around 18,000 mt. He said that the
increase in demand for isomer-MX was likely temporary because more cargoes of
isomer MX from South Korea and Japan were expected to arrive in China in
