In the week ending Aug. 18, pricing
dynamics started to reflect fundamentals in European oxo-alcohol markets, with
downwards pricing pressure evident in the face of market length. Spot pricing dropped
across the n, I, and 2-EH markets over the week, in stark contrast to the
pricing dynamics in early August when pricing was bullish despite limited buyer
interest. The domestic price of European
isobutanol in Europe was Eur1,535-1,545/mt FOB Northwest Europe. This is a
Eur15-17/mt decline on the week. Prices moved further down within an indicator
of prices between Eur1,500-1.650/mt, taking into account market feedback about
downwards pricing pressure. The decline in
domestic prices was partially reflected in the export price assessment at
$1,265-1,280/mt FOB Rotterdam. This...
