Market conditions for import-export are muted / Domestic China prices drop due to low demand

The import/export market conditions for Asian acrylonitrile remained stable from week to week, May 27. Tradeable discussions were heard for $1,180/mt CFR Far East Asia. There was little interest or discussion in the Southeast Asia Market. There were no reported trades. Sources said that while the new developments in acrylonitrile's industry start-up have been limited, they expect supply to increase. Participants remained alert to possible changes in the economy and industry factors. Sources reported that China's weekly operating rate for acrylonitrile was stable at 72% on May 22 compared to May 15. Sources reported that domestic ex-tanks prices were significantly lower on May 27 due to a lack of demand and abundant supplies. Shandong's ex-tank prices are around Yuan 8300-8400/mt.
