In the week ending Nov. 2, the European polypropylene
markets were stable with limited transaction activity and low demand. The November market was
limited in options, with continued destocking and little interest from
consumers to replenish inventories. At the
time of writing, there was no confirmation of a November propylene contract
price settlement. Negotiations were hampered by European bank holidays and
divergence between buyer and seller pricing expectations. Propylene producers have been heard threatening price
increases following an increase in naphtha prices in October. However,
consumers are reluctant to accept such increases given the limited demand for
polypropylene derivatives like propylene. A
