weaker FOB Singapore- 92 Ron falls 3.67%; crude slips 2.6% on day



Asian FOB Singapore MTBE fell $3-4/mt to
$958-970/mt on Aug. 4. This was due to active buying interest which capped sharper
falls in a weaker energy system. The
92RON dropped 3.67% to $105.03-120.50/b while the 92RON crack fell 14.14% to
$8.2/b. The front-month ICE Brent crude oil futures fell 2.66% to $96.83-102.50/b
by 4:30 PM Singapore time (0830 GMT). Shipping-wise,
approximately 10,000 mt MTBE cargo from North China will be arriving in the Straits. Another 10,000 mt will be arriving from Qingdao to Qinzhou. Market
participants anticipated that the China–to–Straits MTBE Arbitrage
flows might not be visible from September onwards as the arbitraged economy is
