Spot activity in the Indian methanol market started the week of Nov. 17 on a softer note but picked up pace late Nov. 20 amid growing market chatter about anticipated supply concerns. Domestic ex-tank Kandla prices rose amid fresh supply concerns, with offers heard up by Rupee 2.5/kg ($28/mt) day over day at Rupee 31.5/kg while Mumbai ex-tank was heard around Rupee 32/kg. Import parity levels rose to $320-$325/mt on Nov. 20, from around $300-$305/mt heard on Nov. 17.
