CFR China hits 4-month high Taiwan's CPC to shut Linyuan cracker



Due to tight supply and
gains in upstream markets, Asian butadiene was stable at $30/mt-$40/mt higher
on February 8. The CFR China price hit a four-month peak. Domestic China moved higher on February 8, as participants
returned from the Lunar New Year holiday. The Yuan 100/mt- Yuan 130/mt
assessment was increased to Yuan 7,600/mt- Yuan 7,650/mt or $1,037/mt-
$1,045/mt if the import parity basis is used. Lower steam cracker production led to Asian butadiene stocks
being tightened. CPC Taiwan plans to close
its No. A company source told us that the
CPC plans to close its No. 4 naphtha-fed steam cracker in Linyuan within the
next few months. The cracker can produce
58,000 mt/year of butadiene. After annual
