Asian butadiene rose $10/mt on Dec. 14,
with CFR China valuing the price at $780/mt. This is the highest rate since
Nov. 1, when it was valued at $790-810/mt. Firmer January 2023 demand was a positive sign
for Asian butadiene, compared to December. According
to some market sources, spot demand for January was stronger due to lower steam
cracker operations. According to market sources, suppliers may be
looking to purchase cargoes in the spot market as they do not have sufficient
quantity to fulfill their term contracts for January 2023. The Dec. 14
