Celanese is presently running its Acetic acid unit at curtailed rates. A source in China informed a team member, "The company is currently operating the unit at approximately 80% of its production capacity. The reason for the production cut could not be determined, and an authorized source was unavailable for confirmation." Located in Nanjing, Jiangsu in China, the unit has a production capacity of 1.2 million mt/year.
