Asian Caprolactam : Outlook improves as trade talks

improved in the week to February 9, as there was some resumption trade talks
among participants. Some
producers adjusted the caprolactam list price in East China to reflect this
increase. Other producers also followed their lead. Some end-users were open to discussing the fact that
feedstock prices had risen, and acknowledged the need for higher production
costs. A source said that foreign supplies
were also offered at the East China port. For
March, trade indications were heard at $1,700 to $1,750/mt. CFR Far East Asia caprolactam was $1,725/mt. CFR Southeast
Asia caprolactam also stood at this level. There were also inquiries from Asia for nylon, which
