Asian caprolactam prices fell further in the week ended April3, weighed by poor demand but partly supported by strongerbenzene and domestic China prices. CFR Far East Asia caprolactam prices down$20/mt week over week at $1,370/mt April 3, within tradableindications heard in the $1,350-$1,390/mt range. The assessmentalso partially considered the rebound in domestic East Chinacaprolactamprices.Similarly, CFR Southeast Asia prices were assessed $20/mtlower at $1,360/mt for the week ended April 3, in line with thechange in CFR Far East Asia.According to a Far East Asian buyer, "The price of benzene isstable and slightly rising, while China caprolactam prices are alsorecovering, which supports the overall market.""The price rebound in the mainland market is due to productioncuts which started in March, with more coming in April.
