Asian caprolactam prices retreated in the week to Sept. 25 due to the ripple effects from the weak supply-demand situation in the mainland China market. CFR Far East Asia caprolactam prices down $15/mt week over week at $1,220/mt Sept. 25, within tradable indications heard lower at $1,215-$1,225/mt. The assessment also took into consideration weaker domestic China caprolactam prices. During the week to Sept. 25, East China molten and domestic China solid caprolactam prices were down by Yuan 200/mt and Yuan 50/mt at Yuan 8,400/mt and Yuan 8,750/mt, respectively. “The domestic China market is generally facing a challenging high supply but low demand situation, and the caprolactam market is also experiencing the same.
