caprolactam market. Some producers continued to negotiate term contracts with
clients, but did not engage in spot negotiations. Market participants stated
that although there may have been term material deliveries, there were less of
them. Due to the quiet festive season,
which is traditionally the busiest time for inquiries in the year, downstream
nylon demand was weak. Sources said that
most Asian producers of caprolactam saw a reduction in production and that the
average run rate was less than 70%. One
source stated that CFR Far East Asia caprolactam was priced at $1,600/mt.
Another source claimed that Southeast Asia could see discussions $100/mt below
