caprolactam market saw a slowdown in trade momentum. Both buyers and sellers
were unable to engage in negotiations. After the downturn in upstream
benzene feedstock, CFR Far East Asia caprolactam was $2,145-2,190/mt, and
Southeast Asia caprolactam was $2,155-2,190/mt, respectively on July 14. Unviable
margins to produce downstream nylon were a major problem for demand for
caprolactam, which has not been improving for a long time. According to a
source, discussions for caprolactam in East China's domestic ex-tank market
were heard at Yuan 13.850/mt throughout the day. However, they dropped to Yuan
