LG Chem to halt production at solvents plant

LG Chem is likely to shut down its solvents plant in Daesan. A source in South Korea informed a team member, “The company is in plans to start maintenance at the plant over October-November 2025. The exact date and duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Daesan, South Korea, the solvents plant has a phenol production capacity of 300,000 mt/year and acetone production capacity of 180,000 mt/year.
