Buying interest remains low amid weak

Due to limited spot
availability and slow demand, the Asian caprolactam markets saw buyers and
sellers battling it out. Prices remained flat at $2,250-2,280/mt CFR Far East
Asia, and $2,310-2,320/mt CFR Southeast Asia on April 21. Spot prices in East China were higher at Yuan 13,900-14,000/mt.
This was up about Yuan 100-140/mt. However, one source said that the increase
in demand was due to the availability of firm feedstock. Buyers reported lower inventory levels, but they were less
likely to stockpile due to high feedstock costs, uncertain demand, and lower
inventory levels. One source said that
downstream producers would prefer to lower run rates. Suppliers are looking for export opportunities to Europe,
with prices above $3,000-3,120/mt on a CFR...
