Propylene Markets on February 15, as low operating rates for Asian naphtha-fed
steam crackeders kept supply tight. Market
sources say that buyers were cautious due to weak downstream prices of
polypropylene. However, margins were low, which led to weaker market prices. The
propylene prices are supported by low supply, but the demand is limited as
buyers are concerned about PP margins. PP demand
is low and no one wants to keep a large inventory of resin. Propylene demand
will not gain much traction if downstream demands don't improve," stated a
Northeast Asian trader. According to market participants,
the tight supply situation will not improve in the short term...
