On June 6, Asian butadiene dropped $20/mt from day to day, falling to $1100/mt CFR China as sentiments weakened due rising spot supply. Asian butadiene fell $40-$50/mt week over week. This week the Asian butadiene markets continued to decline, with numerous spot offers being made in Asia and abroad. Two spot tenders have been heard, one FOB Korea and the other FOB Thailand. Based on the CFR Northeast Asia price formula, it was reported that a spot cargo traded on an FOB Korean basis at minus $10/mt. According to a CFR NE Asia price formula, a buyer was interested in buying a spot cargo on FOB Thailand at $1100/ mt (or minus $80/mt).
