participants are due to return from holiday Jan. 28. Market participants said
the Asian butadiene market is currently near its ceiling as demand from
end-users was rather limited amid negative downstream production margins,
notably for synthetic rubber. A market source said an extra push from
downstream sector was necessary for Asian butadiene to increase beyond
$1,000/mt. Spot price discussions were limited due to the holiday. Thailand’s
PTT issued a tender to sell 2,000 mt of crude C-4 for loading over Feb. 1-10.
