The Asian butadiene price was stable or $30/mt higher on June 20, as the firmer energy complex upstream continued to drive sentiment. CFR China butadiene was $30/mt higher than the previous day, at $1100/mt, on June 20. CFR Northeast Asia remained stable at $1070/mt. Asian butadiene prices rose between $20 and $50/mt from a week ago. The Asian butadiene markets firmed up in the week beginning June 16 due to the strength of the crude oil and naphtha market in the region, as well as the conflict in the Middle East. A possible shortage of butadiene from the Middle East caused some concern in the market. Middle East is China's regular butadiene supplier.
