Due
to higher energy prices, Asian monoethylene glycol imports rose Nov. 14. January
ICE Brent crude oil futures increased 5 cents/b on the day to $96/b at 4:30pm
Singapore time (0830 GMT Nov. 14). On the Dalian Commodity Exchange, the
January 2023 MEG futures contract was active trading at Yuan 3,989-4,809/mt. Traders
reported that inventories were less than 100,000 mt. Producers said that
Asian MEG margins weren't competitive. Traders said that the price outlook
was mixed due to weak demand and rising costs. The bullish sentiment of
suppliers was that prices should rise in line with rising oil prices. Traders
predicted that production cuts would continue until margins strengthen. Sources
