Sources say that Asian monoethylene glycol
imports were stable on Nov. 15, despite thin trades. At 4:30pm Singapore time
(0830 GMT), Nov. 15, the January ICE Brent crude oil prices fell $3.32/b per
day to $92.68/b. On the Dalian Commodity
Exchange, the January 2023 MEG futures contract was traded at Yuan 3/3 mt per
day to Yuan 3,986/mtexc-tank. Commodity
Insights was told by sources that the Chinese operating rate of MEG units has
been about 50% this year. However, oil-based and coal production have been
lower than 60% and 30%, respectively. They
also said that the average MEG operating rate has been 60% this year because of
higher crude production costs. Producers
