The November 23rd increase in Asian
monoethylene glycol imports was due to higher futures prices. The January
Intercontinental Exchange Brent crude oils futures increased 44 cents per day
to $89.1/b by 4:30pm Singapore time (0830 GMT) Nov. 23, On the Dalian Commodity Exchange, the January 2023 MEG
futures were active and traded at Yuan 3,813-3,893/mt. MEG arbitrage between China and Europe is possible, with a
difference of more than $160-180/mt. There
is no arbitrage from China to the US, as the latter is a net MEG importer. Chinese traders claimed they were selling out of bonded
storage units. Sources said that the US
will supply more Asia-bound goods in the second half of 2023 because it has new
