The Asian benzene price was $1.33/mt less than the previous day, at $701/mt FOM Korea on June 6. This is despite higher upstream prices and a stable domestic Chinese market. The price of crude oil and naphtha both rose on June 6. The front-month ICE Brent contract was 16 cents/b more than the previous session, at $65.09/b at the close in Asia. Meanwhile, the C+F Japan Naphtha marker increased by $3.375/mt to $560.50/mt. East China's domestic mark was unchanged from day to day at Yuan 5,872/mt. CFR China's marker, however, fell $1/mt on the day and closed at $719/mt. Market opinion was divided on August's outlook.
