Asian caprolactam prices stagnate in the week ended Aug. 7, stalled by cost pressures and weak demand. "Prices are not really moving, as supporting factors like tighter supply and cost pressures are offset by slow demand, limiting the producer's ability to pass on costs," said a buyer source. A local distributor echoed a similar sentiment, stating, "Our caprolactam sales are not ideal, but nylon-6 sales are better, as downstream has more applications."
