On June 28, the Asian
propylene market fell as buyers refused to purchase imports. The August ICE
Brent crude oil futures rose $3.19/b to $116.59/b after the previous session.
However, the increase did not lift the propylene markets. A source stated that the propylene market in China is weak.
The running rate of PP [polypropylene] at 40% is a sign that demand is very
low. South Korea's Taekwang Industrial
plans to keep the run rate at 300,000.mt/year propane hydrogenation unit in
Ulsan at 90 percent in July. This is the same as June Insights reported on May

maintain its run rate at the 290,000-mt/year Ulsan acrylonitrile facility at
