Styrene monomer CFR China and FOB Korea at $1,107/mt and $1,092/mt July 31, down $31/mt day over day, tracking the movement in the domestic China market. The September EB2609 SM futures contract listed on the Dalian Commodity Exchange dropped 233 yuan/mt to 8,385 yuan/mt during the afternoon trading session July 31, at 3 pm Beijing time. “Styrene prices are largely driven by the fluctuations in crude oil prices,” a China-based analyst said. The front-month ICE Brent futures contract fell $3.89/b on the trading session to $88.20/b on July 31, as of the Asian close at 4:30 pm.
