solvent mixed xylenes declined on the week of Jan. 6, tracking crude oil prices
and naphtha. The decline in prices was led by South Korea and
India. According to industry sources, the market structure was weaker
because of a lackluster demand from India and Southeast Asia at the year's
beginning. Sources said that FOB Korea indicative prices were being
discussed and tradable between $760-$785/mt. A $790/mt offer was made for
1,000 mt February loading, with a letter of credit. There were no firm or
trade offers. According to broking sources, participants in Jiangsu's
Chinese domestic xylenes markets were waiting and watching. According to
